Exercise and Press launch

Today's routine exercise launch had more of a crowd on the beach than usual... but then we were launching not just the boat but also our Shannon Lifeboat Appeal to the local press.

We were delighted to welcome journalists, photographers and film crews from several publications and television stations. This has since resulted in good coverage on Anglia TV and Mustard TV in Norwich, as well as stories in local newspapers and on news websites such as the EDP24.

It was a pleasure to see so many members of the public come down too, both local residents and the crew's families as well as visitors to the town and lifeboat supporters. 

We were joined be a delegation of bikers from the local Saturday Morning Club, who presented a cheque for £500 towards the new lifeboat from their recent fundraising ride. Thanks guys!

Photographs and interviews meant that the launch was hardly in record time but those who waited patiently were rewarded with a rare 'fly past' of the Mersey for the cameras.
