Ex-Aldeburgh No. 2 boat and Dunkirk Little Ship, Liverpool class lifeboat Lucy Lavers was relaunched in Wells on 4 May following a long and dedicated restoration by the Stiffkey-based charity Rescue Wooden Boats. The lifeboat was stationed at Wells as a relief lifeboat in 1962 and again in 1963-1964 and so was back in the water at Wells for the first time in 51 years.

The boat is due to leave Wells early on 7 May with Wells Coxswain Allen Frary and other current volunteer crew members on board for a passage to Lowestoft as the first leg of a voyage to take part in the 75th Anniversary Return to Dunkirk on 21-25 May, joining other vessels which took part in the evacuation.
